Sand and water play

We were off to East Coast Park last Saturday. We had such a blast. I had his much awaited water and sand play. This time we came geared for his water play unlike the previous visit to the beach where water play was not in our plan and he was drenched from head to toe. Even A was geared for his son's water play. B just stayed on the beach mat with me playing with some of the sand toys. Blur me forgot to pack her toys.
After the sand and water play, we rented this 3 wheeler for I to try. He enjoyed it very much and claims the he can ride it very well.
'Umi, I dun want my skate scooter, I want the 3 wheeler. Tomorrow we buy'. That's what he said. we had such a good laugh when we hear that. He even relate his new love for the 3 wheeler to his grandpa.
Anyway we had such a blast that day and definitely there will be more of such activities.

Graduation day

We attended I's graduation day today. My boy has graduated! It seems like it was just yesterday that I send him to his first day of school. How I remembered that he refuse to let me leave the classroom and insisted that I stayed with him.How time flies and how much he has grown to what he is now. It made me realise how we as parents should cherish these golden years that we have with them before they grow and get themselves busy with their own agenda- needing much less of their parents.

Reading

An update on their reading:-

I is now reading 5a of the p&J series. I'm extremely proud of him and at the same time very happy at his progress. Of course there will be some words which he will deem to forget. Probably I should write those words and stick them up on his cupboard. I have been slacking on that.Time to work mummy.
I have stopped teaching him the complex phonics which are the long vowels and the silent 'e' words. He tends to be confuse and mix up all the vowel sounds. Well, I guess I kind of overdo it. I mean he is only 3 years and 3 months. I should probably hang on a bit till he is a bit more mature before going on to the complex vowel. But, then again, I am put on a dilemma that I'm not fully exercising his potential since he already knew all the basic phonics. I go into more deeper thinking into that.

As for B, at 7 months, she doesn't seem very much interested in books. Read to her a book and that is probably her max before she wiggle and crawl off your lap despite how colourful the book is. Ehmm!! that can be worrying-what if she don't really develop the love for reading. Well mummy just have to work a little bit harder and continue to read more to her.

I tend to taste my book at times...

I's 2nd last day of school

Gosh! How time flies. It's going to be his last day of school tomorrow. Funny though I am the one who is feeling so sad that he will not be going to that school anymore. When I asked him if he feels sad about not seeing his teacher and friends anymore- he just said ,'sad...which school ilyasak will go to next year. After getting a reply from me, he will ask again, 'at which block?'.My boy, he doesn't know what sad means I guess.
I have grown to like his teachers very much and feels very sad that he is going to have a different teacher next year and has to try to adapt to his new school environment. I hope I made the right choice in enrolling him in the new school though.
He will have his graduation party tomorrow. One might wonder, 'huh! graduation for a playgroup boy'.I must say, I'm pretty excited myself. he is going to perform 2 songs..AH! can't wait for the 'mega'performance of my boy and the other 3 year old classmates.

Getting started

I thought I should pen down my thoughts and summary about my daily life like what other mothers did. As I read through those blogs of inspiring mothers out there, it leads me to start up my own blog again. I hope I have the discipline to keep it alive and not let it go dormant. I want to blog about my kids and the stuff I did and go through with them. Sharing the phases they went through and the interesting things that they do as they go through the different phases of their life. Something for them to read through when they are older.
